We built the QR code tool we kept needing.
olinqs is made by a software company. We build websites and larger services for all kinds of clients, and almost every one of them needed QR codes.
Why we made it
The tools we found were too complicated. They asked for an account before you could do the simplest things, and they locked you in: stop paying, and the codes you printed stop working.
A designer once made the QR codes for one of our flyers on her own. Before it went to print, the whole team checked them twice, and every one worked. None of us imagined a QR code could simply stop working. Then, with the flyers printed and handed out, they did. To bring them back, we had to subscribe to a service at $50 a month, which could only be paid a year at a time.
What we do differently
- Free QR codes, with no account. They hold your link or text themselves, so they never expire.
- Pay once, not every month. Codes you can change after printing cost $10 once.
- No lock-in. With your own domain name, your printed codes point to an address you own, not to us.
What “lifetime” means
Core and Pro can be paid once, for life. We don’t say that lightly: we use olinqs for our own businesses, and for clients who have worked with us for more than ten years. They depend on it as much as you do, so we will do our best to keep it working for as long as possible.
