How to make an Instagram QR code
Type your username, with or without the @, or paste the address of your profile. The code opens your profile in the Instagram app, or on the website when the app isn’t installed. It starts with Instagram’s purple-to-pink look and logo; change the colours, shapes and caption as you like.
Where to use it
- Shops and cafés: on the counter, the menu or the receipt, where people wait.
- Business cards and flyers: your profile is often a better portfolio than a website.
- Packaging and labels: point customers to tutorials, reviews and new products.
- Events: a code on the screen or at the door gets you followers while people are there.
Link to a post or a reel
Paste the post’s link instead of your username. Posts can be deleted or archived, though, so for anything printed, a dynamic QR code is safer: you can point it to a new post at any time, and see how many people scanned it.
Questions
Instagram has its own QR code. Why make one here?
Instagram’s code only comes in a few styles. Here you choose the colours, shapes, logo and caption, download SVG for sharp printing, and can track scans.
What if I change my username?
A free code keeps opening the old username, so make a new one. A dynamic code can be pointed to the new username without reprinting.
Will it scan with the logo in the middle?
Yes. The code is made with enough error correction to read around the logo, and the preview warns you if a change makes it harder to scan.
