How to make a Google review QR code
- Open your Google Business Profile (search for your business on Google while signed in, or use the Google Business app).
- Choose Ask for reviews (sometimes “Get more reviews”) and copy the link. It looks like g.page/r/…/review.
- Paste it above, pick a design, and download.
You can also paste your Place ID (it starts with ChIJ). The code then opens Google’s review form for that place directly.
Where to put it
- At the till or on the counter, where customers wait for a moment.
- On tables, receipts and takeaway bags, where people are still thinking about their visit.
- In thank-you emails and invoices, as a code or simply as the link.
Print it at least 3 cm wide, with a short line such as “Enjoyed your visit? Leave us a review”. People scan more when they know what the code is for.
Play by Google’s rules
Google doesn’t allow rewards for reviews (discounts, gifts, entries into a draw) or asking only happy customers. Ask everyone, and the reviews you get will be the ones that count.
Questions
Do customers need a Google account?
Yes, to post a review, as on Google itself. Most Android users are already signed in; others are asked to sign in first.
Will the code still work if I move?
A free code opens the review link it was made with. A dynamic QR code can be pointed to your new listing, and counts how many people scan it.
Can I make codes for other review sites?
Yes: see the review QR code page for Tripadvisor, Trustpilot and others.
